Invitation to the events to commemorate Prof. Shinsuke Tanabe’s retirement

Dear Alumni and Colleagues,

We are pleased to inform you that we are arranging some commemorative events for Prof. Shinsuke Tanabe, Director, Center for Marine Environmental Studies, Ehime University, who will be retiring at the end of March, 2016.

Needless to say, Prof. Tanabe has continuously and energetically worked in the field of environmental chemistry at Ehime University since the 1970s, and produced vast and ingenious research achievements. His outstanding and excellent activities gained international acclaim, and his exceptional abilities as a leader of a number of large-scale research projects including the Global Center of Excellence (G-COE) have propelled the Center for Marine Environmental Studies, founded in 1999, into the mainstream of world-class research institutions. Also, he has long been a great mentor for many students and researchers rallying around him from all over the world. The large volume of research publications produced by Prof. Tanabe and his team of researchers in the field of environmental chemistry and ecotoxicology is an invaluable asset for the workers in this field.

Upon the retirement of Prof. Tanabe, to look back on his successful career, and to express our appreciation to his considerable contribution to his profession as a significant researcher and academician, and his unending support of students and colleagues, we organize the following commemorative events. We look forward to all the alumni and colleagues joining us on this occasion to commemorate Prof. Tanabe’s retirement.
